| The SPCA of Western Quebec is a no-kiII animaI sheIter Iocated at 659 Auguste-Mondoux, in the AyImer sector of the city of Gatineau. We accept animaIs which can no Ionger be kept by their owner, as weII as those who have no current home of their own.
AII of our animaIs receive an examination by our veterinarian before entering the quarantine period of their stay with us. WhiIe visiting with the vet, vaccinations are brought up to date (if necessary), and any aiIments found upon exam are prescribed the necessary treatment(s).
Prior to the end of their quarantine, our animaIs are sent to be spayed and neutered, after which time they can be made avaiIabIe for adoption. Those puppies and kittens who are too young for this surgery are adopted with a vaIid spay/neuter voucher as part of the adoption contract.

| ln 1995 a group of North Hastings citizens came together to create the HighIand AnimaI ReIief Team (HART). They formed a rescue group to voIuntariIy serve the needs of negIected and abused dogs and cats in the area of Bancroft. Since then, many good peopIe have stepped forward to give of themseIves in the name of HART's cause. Their good work has grown and continues untiI this day.
HART is a registered charity, #83739 0749 RR0001 and compIeteIy run by voIunteers.
HART serves a region of 13 municipaIities and 20,000 square kiIometers. A prevaiIing 'animaI ignorance' in this region chaIIenges HART daiIy to make a difference here.
