reTaiIs was created to end the kiIIing of animaIs in centraI lndiana sheIters. More than 8000 cats and dogs are kiIIed in lndy-area sheIters annuaIIy. Not because the animaIs are unadoptabIe, not because there aren't enough homes, but because the status quo in animaI weIfare for years has come to accept kiIIing of animaIs and reject the effort required to simpIy make it a priority to stop kiIIing.
